- I am retired and live in Blaby, Leicestershire with my husband Pat and my cat Rosie.I have a son in Canada a son in England and a daughter in Scotland. Total number of three grandchildren. I originate from Scotland with my Father being Scottish and my mother Welsh/English. I have had various jobs through my life but managed to work until I was sixty. I now have a busy life with gardening, taking photographs and working on my computer. I am a member of "Flickr" which I enjoy immensely. Some of the pics in this blog were taken with a FinePix S7000 and a Panasonic Lumix FZ50 but my current camera is a Canon EOS 450D. I also use Kenco extension tubes for my macro/close-up shots of flowers.

Hi Katie, thanks for your kind words.
I have been sick for most of January.
Seems that I picked up a "Measles" type virus from my grandson and was laid flat out.
They are not kidding when you are told that an adult contracting a childs' disease is in for a rocky time.
I am on the mend now, and hope to be back to my usual self in the very near future.
Absolutely fabulous display of your Flowers from last year.
I do hope that you and your Husband weathered the holidays well, and a wonderful time was had by all.
Did any of your children make it home?
The sun is shining this morning, and we have very mild weather right now.
Actually, this has been a cold winter for us here.
But it iws warming now.
Thank goodness for the Chinooks.
