Trying a bit of Lucis on this photo to see what the effect is.
Quite pleased with my first try.

- I am retired and live in Blaby, Leicestershire with my husband Pat and my cat Rosie.I have a son in Canada a son in England and a daughter in Scotland. Total number of three grandchildren. Some of the pics in this blog were taken with a FinePix S7000 and a Panasonic Lumix FZ50 but my current camera is a Canon EOS 450D. I also use Kenco extension tubes for my macro/close-up shots of flowers.

I do like the effect of the Hoar Frost on the trees fronting the background pines.
Overall, I cannot say honestly what effect you were going for (non-photographer here) But I really like the whole photograph! :)
